The hospitals named to the list were selected based upon their rankings on industry lists by Thomson Reuters, U.S. News & World Report and HealthGrades as well as by comparisons of publicly-available indicators such as patient safety, outcomes and satisfaction.

Parma Community General Hospital formed the Parma Hospital Health Care Foundation in 1987 as a way to give something back to the communties it serves. The Foundation's mission is to provide funding for community health initiatives and Parma Hospital projects and programs.
