Orthopedic surgeon Larry Lika, DO, forecast a smooth and fast recovery for well-known Cleveland weatherman Brad Sussman following a minimally invasive hip replacement last fall at Parma Community General Hospital. And having experienced a traditional hip replacement nearly a decade earlier, Sussman found the comparison as stark as night and day. Sussman will share his story at an upcoming educational talk given by Dr. Lika on Wednesday, November 13 at 7 p.m. at the North Royalton Family YMCA, 11409 State Road, North Royalton. Dr. Lika, an orthopedic surgeon with Southwest Orthopaedics, performs the muscle-sparing anterior approach to hip replacement at Parma Hospital, where the joint replacement program has earned the Gold Seal of Approval for health care quality from the Joint Commission.
