New Chief Nursing Officer joins Parma Hospital
Parma Community General Hospital’s new chief nursing officer is a veteran of community hospital settings who says she couldn’t wait to work at what she regards as a “hidden secret” in the region’s health care arena.
Tracy Sharpnack, MSN, BSN, RN comes to Parma Hospital from the Lake Hospital System, where she served as vice president of Perioperative and Critical Care Services. She also spent two decades at Community Health Partners in Lorain, where she held progressively more responsible leadership positions culminating in her promotion to vice president and chief nursing officer.
“Most of my career has been in a community-based setting, and I always looked forward to having an opportunity to come to Parma Community General Hospital,” says Sharpnack. “For years I have heard nothing but great things about Parma – from the great quality of patient care to the friendliness of employees.”
In the role of CNO, Tracy provides leadership and support for all inpatient nursing departments, as well as the Emergency Department, Home Health Care and Hospice. She also will be instrumental in efforts directed toward patient satisfaction and nursing recruitment and retention.
“In addition to her qualifications and rich experience, Tracy exhibits much positive energy and enthusiasm towards our mission of providing excellent, personalized care,” says President & CEO Patricia A. Ruflin.
Tracy has a master’s degree in Nursing from the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from The Ohio State University. She resides in Vermilion.
