Four new members appointed to Parma Hospital’s Board of Trustees 

Parma Community General Hospital welcomes four new members to its Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees consists of members from each of Parma Hospital’s six founding communities: Parma, Parma Heights, Seven Hills, North Royalton, Brooklyn and Brooklyn Heights. Two physicians also are selected from the Medical Staff to serve on the Board.

Four new members, recommended for appointment by their respective mayors and approved by the Board, include:

  • William J. Bishilany (City of Seven Hills) – A former Seven Hills councilman and current director of Public Works who oversaw construction of the city’s new recreation center and fire station, Bishilany has experience in administration, marketing, finance and government. He also has experience interfacing with non-profit organizations and has training in emergency response. Bishilany is a former executive vice president of the Greater Cleveland Suburban Council Association.
  • Alex I. Koler (City of Parma) – A certified financial planner with his own business, Koler Financial Group, Koler received the Parma Area Chamber of Commerce Pride Award in 1994.  Koler also worked as a mathematician and did analysis in that capacity at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for the first moon walk. A member of the Parma Hospital Health Care Foundation Board since 1992, he has held various leadership positions including as treasurer and vice president.
  • Jennifer L. Lasky (Village of Brooklyn Heights) – A co-owner of a small business, Lasky Landscaping and Snowplowing, Lasky has volunteered extensively for her church, St. Charles Borromeo parish in Parma, and her children’s school, Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School. She also worked in criminal justice for several years, teaching for Lorain Community College and working prior to that as a state probation officer. Lasky was named Brooklyn Heights Volunteer of the Year in March 2009.
  • Samuel W. Pagano, MD (Physician Trustee) – A member of Parma Hospital’s Medical Staff since 1987, Dr. Pagano works in the hospital’s Emergency Department. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University and George Washington University, he currently resides in Broadview Heights.

Trustees reappointed to a three-year term by their mayor were: Jack C. Krise Jr. (City of Parma); John H. Bundy (City of Brooklyn); Kent A. Geist (City of Parma Heights); and Thomas P. O’Donnell (City of North Royalton). 

Kent A. Geist (Parma Heights) was re-elected chairman of the Board. Others officers elected are as follows: David Nedrich (North Royalton), first vice chairman; JoAnn Mason (Parma), second vice chairman; Robert Bartholomew Jr. (Brooklyn Hts.), secretary; Jack C. Krise Jr. (Parma), treasurer; John H. Bundy (Brooklyn), assistant secretary; Thomas P. O’Donnell (North Royalton), first assistant treasurer; Joseph Tal (Parma Heights), second assistant treasurer; and Scott D. Curtis (Seven Hills) member-at-large. 

Other members on the Board are: Jack P. Marschall (Parma); Jacqueline M. Patton (Brooklyn); Louis D. Ripepi Jr. (Parma); Salvatore P. Sidoti, DPM (Physician Trustee); and Sharon Straker-Martin (Parma).
