Parma Community General Hospital’s Board of Directors has chosen its leadership for the coming year. Kent A. Geist (Parma Heights) was re-elected chairman of the Board.

7/12/2010 :: Ridge Park Square imaging center acquired by Parma Hospital

Parma Hospital is pleased to announce that it has acquired the Ridge Park Square location of Spectrum Imaging. Effective today, it will now be known as Parma Hospital Diagnostic Imaging at Ridge Park Square.

7/8/2010 :: Stroke program certified by Joint Commission

Parma Community General Hospital’s stroke program has earned the Gold Seal of Approval™ from the Joint Commission for Primary Stroke Centers. Parma Hospital earned this distinction after the Joint Commission conducted an unannounced on-site review in April.

6/10/2010 :: Joint Camp certified by Joint Commission

Parma Community General Hospital’s Joint Camp has earned the Gold Seal of Approval™ for health care quality. The Joint Commission recently awarded Parma Hospital Disease-Specific Care Certification for total hip and total knee joint replacement. Parma Hospital is among seven hospitals in Ohio certified for these procedures.

5/14/2010 :: Parma Hospital President & CEO Announces Retirement

Parma Community General Hospital announced today that President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Patricia A. Ruflin will retire mid-summer, and that its board of directors has named Terry Deis, current chief operating officer, to succeed her as the new President & CEO.

Parma Community General Hospital has been named to the list of 20 Best Community Hospitals in America, as published in the March/April edition of Becker’s Hospital Review. The hospitals named to the list were selected based upon their rankings on industry lists by Thomson Reuters, U.S. News & World Report and HealthGrades as well as by comparisons of publicly-available indicators such as patient safety, outcomes and satisfaction.

Reinforcing its commitment to the wellness of both its employees and the community, Parma Community General Hospital will no longer hire smokers, effective March 1, 2010.

1/15/2010 :: Visitation restrictions lifted on visitors under 18

Effective immediately, visitors under 18 are now allowed access to public areas of Parma Community General Hospital and also are permitted to visit patients.
