Senior Resources

Parma Hospital has been at the forefront for decades at helping senior citizens live long, active, independent lives – as evidenced by the initiation of a collaborative Senior Resource Network that blends the expertise of area providers of senior services.

With the opening of the ElderCenter adult day care facility in 1990, families have found an affordable alternative to nursing homes that gives seniors opportunities for social interaction, mental stimulation and supervised care by qualified nursing staff. ElderCenter has expanded to offer additional programming such as: The Club retreat for individuals with mild memory loss – one of only a few in the state; Club S.O.D.A. for active young adults who require a structured, supervised program; and Designed Around You (D.A.Y.), a unique program designed by Parma Hospital to provide transitional care for those returning to community living after a hospital stay.

Health Watch and Vial of Life, offered through the Parma Hospital Auxiliary, aid senior safety. And the Behavioral Center for Older Adults is a secure psychiatric unit specializing in geriatric care.
