Small Wonders Maternity Center

From the first moment you know you're ready to become a parent until your baby is settled in at home, The Maternity Center at Parma Community General Hospital has a step-by-step plan for you. It's Small Wonders – a program designed to make families feel comfortable and secure.

The WORLD of Small Wonders

Comfortable Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR) rooms, featuring wireless internet access and free televisions with VCRs, provide a homelike environment for mothers and their families. Experienced staff guide mothers through the delivery experience in a secured, modern unit. Private, beautifully decorated postpartum rooms are the perfect setting for families and new babies to get acquainted. Babies are encouraged to stay in the room with their mothers, and a nursery is available when mothers need to rest. Visiting hours are flexible to accommodate family schedules.

The HEART of Small Wonders

Our hospital staff  is with you every step of the way. Small Wonders is a comprehensive program of support for families and babies including:

  • A free visit from a Home Health Nurse after discharge to make sure your family is comfortably settled and transitioning to home
  • Educational programs, such as infant CPR and sibling classes and prepared childbirth (Lamaze)
  • Ongoing guidance from certified lactation consultants, including breast-feeding support groups
